Our farm la Mirande is located in the South West of France, at the edge of the beautiful forest of Les Landes, where the scent of the pine trees is abundant. With clear skies you can see as far as the Pyrenees. Our grounds stretch for 6 hectares / 28 acres, where you can take a leisurely stroll through our forest or walk into the typical French village of Meylan with its 35 inhabitants.
You can find your very comfortable gîte
on our characteristic Landaise style farm,
where we converted a former wine cellar
into a modern gîte.For centuries the Armagnac
was stored here and during the year of 2009
we have created a modern and comfortable
apartment consisting of a cozy living room,
dining room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms both
with en-suite bathrooms. The gîte has central
heating, but more importantly also air conditioning.
The gîte is fully self contained with its own
terrace which has breathtaking views on
the Pyrenees on clear days. The terrace
has a table, four chairs, parasol (a must in
this area) and a barbecue. If you prefer
to eat in the shade, there is ample space
under the pine trees, where there is also
an extra table and chairs. When you enter
the gîte you walk into a comfy living room.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, including
dish washer, full size fridge, electric hob,
espresso coffee maker, microwave etc.
There is a large dining table and chairs.
The downstairs bedroom has twin beds
and an en-suite bathroom with toilet,
shower and wash basin. Upstairs is a
second bedroom, also with twin beds and
en-suite bathroom, again with shower,toilet
and wash basin. There are no hidden costs
as we provide you weekly with clean bed
linen and towels. Cleaning costs at the
end of your stay are also included in the price.
A new feature for 2010 is our swimming pool. You will be able to enjoy the luxury of our 50 square metre pool on a hot day.
Once you have arrived and settled in, if you wish, we would like to meet with you and share a glass of local wine like a Grave or a Buzet. We can inform you about excursions and give you tips to familiarise you with the area. We can tell you about local markets and the many fêtes of the local villages around us.
