Rita and Ron Lazet would like to give you a hearty welcome in their little paradise in the Gascony area in the South-West of France. Our former Armagnac farm “la Mirande” is located in the forest of Les Landes, where you will enjoy the lovely scent of the pine trees. Our domain stretches some 6 hectares / 28 acres, where you can take a leisurely stroll through our forest or walk into the typical French village of Meylan with its 35 inhabitants. It’s here that we can guarantee you tranquillity and space and create a home-away-from-home feeling.
From our domain you can enjoy lovely views into the country side and on clear days you can look as far as the Pyrenees.
We rent out a lovely holiday home and 3 luxury Safari style tents. This is the place where you can enjoy GLAMPING, whether it’s in the holiday home or in one of the luxury safari style tents. Why not wake up in the middle of nature and finally go to sleep under a bed of stars? There’s no air pollution right here and you can admire nature during day and night.
France is famous for it’s picturesque views that invite you to dream away and forget the all day stress. There is still time in this particular part of France for tradition and folklore. In every little village you will find it’s characteristic market and it’s gastronomic specialties. Especially in summer we visit the evening markets where we wine and dine at large tables and thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere of South-West France. We are sure that you will arrive as a guest, and leave as a friend.
In 2009 we converted the former wine cellar into a modern holiday home. For centuries the Armagnac was stored here and we created a modern gîte with a cosy living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The gîte has central heating, but more importantly also air conditioning.
The gîte is fully self contained with its own terrace which has lovely views to the south. The terrace has a table, four chairs, parasol (a must in this area) and a barbecue. If you prefer to eat in the shade, there is ample space under the pine trees, where there is also an extra table and chairs.
When you enter the gîte you walk into a comfy living room. There is a fully equipped kitchen, including dish washer, full size fridge, electric hob, espresso coffee maker, microwave etc. and a large dining table.. The downstairs bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with toilet, shower and wash basin.
Upstairs is a second bedroom, also with twin beds and en-suite bathroom, again with shower, toilet and wash basin.

We also rent out 3 very luxury safari style lodge tents (60 m²).They rest on wooden floorboards, and are equipped with a cosy and shady terrace. Why not combine nature and adventurous outdoor and still enjoy luxury and comfort?
We installed these lodge tents at the edge of our private forest. The tents are fully self contained, with electricity andcomfortable twin beds (90/200). When you enter the lodge tent you will encounter the kitchen with fridge and electric hob as well as your dining table and chairs. The tents are furnished in a rustic style and are very spacious and comfortable.
You will find your private bathroom and WC in a separated sanitary building, next to the pool in a distance of approx. 75 meters from your lodge tent.
If your party is larger than 2 persons, we will gladly install an extra bed or place another comfortable (smaller) tent next door.
The lodge tents are situated on sandy soil and there’s a lot of shade from the old trees like pine trees, cork oak trees andhundreds of years old oak trees. You’ll be in the middle of nature as there are many birds like woodpeckers and owls but also squirrels and deer.
You will be able to enjoy the luxury of our 50 square meter pool on a hot summer day, where we’ll have a shady terrace as well as comfortable deck chairs.
Once you have arrived and settled in, if you wish, we would like to meet with you and share a glass of local wine like a Grave or a Buzet. We can inform you about excursions, the many hiking- as well as biking possibilities and give you tips to familiarise yourself with the area. We can tell you about local markets and the many fêtes of the local villages around us.

Postscript: At our place it’s very quiet, therefore we might suggest that when you are travelling with young children they will have at least a minimum age of 10 years, since we have no children’s entertainment and want to guarantee the tranquillity we are so famous for.
